If you knew, what would you do? Weather 20/20 made a tropical season forecast which identified seven parts of the LRC that would likely produce tropical storms. What? Yes, hurricane season may begin in May or June, but it actually is linked to what happens in the months before hurricane season begins.
When the new LRC sets up each fall, around the first week of October, seeds of the following hurricane season are planted, and then they sprout when the water gets warm enough in May and June.
Nicholas was the sixth named storm predicted months in advance this season (Claudette, Elsa, Fred, Ida, Mindy, and Nicholas). There is two parts of the pattern we are monitoring for possible development before the new LRC sets up. Watch closely for development near Florida around the end of the month or the first few days of October. We already had Hurricane Eta, Hurricane Elsa, and Tropical Storm Fred in this next part of the cycling pattern.
Our statistical weather model is also increasingly accurate and being used by customers now. Contact us for more information on how we can help your business. If you knew, what would you do?
