The Rocky Mountains Have A Holiday Week Snowstorm As The New LRC Sets Up
We will look at the evolving cycling weather pattern
As we begin today’s report, a significant snowstorm is currently unfolding over the Rocky Mountains, marking a dynamic phase in the evolution of the new Lezak Recurring Cycle (LRC). This event offers us a fascinating look into the unique weather pattern that is setting up in the river of air above us. Let's get right into this unfolding cycling weather pattern and discuss its implications as we continue to track the development of the 2024-2025 LRC. Join me as we begin to unravel a few of these atmospheric changes and what they signify for the weeks and months ahead. I will provide more details in our winter outlook special report next week.
Take a look at the snapshot from a traffic camera near the Eisenhower Tunnel on I-70—an impressive sight as snow blankets the high elevations of the Rocky Mountains. I had considered making the drive up there myself, but I don’t want to take the risk and I am still expecting 4-7 inches near where I live in Golden, CO.
Looking ahead, it’s possible that Kansas City may see some snow this weekend as well and I will show you the latest data in just a second.
As we get closer to Thanksgiving I want to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday. There is a lot to discuss, so let’s get started.
