There is a system forming in the southern Gulf of Mexico, and it may be related to what was Hurricane Oscar last fall in October.
A disorganized area of showers and thunderstorms is associated with a disturbance over the southern Gulf, in the Bay of Campeche. It may get somewhat organized in the next 48 hours before moving inland.
On this map above we can see the cycle 7, June 26, version of the LRC and on the right is the October 21, 2024, cycle 7, version of the LRC. The system moving into the southern Gulf of Mexico may be directly related to the segment of the cycling weather pattern that produced Hurricane Oscar near the Cuba coast last fall. I will explain in the video.
